I would like to save enough to take a trip to see my son and granddaughter. I’ve only seen my granddaughter two times and she is four. I’ve not seen my son in almost ten years. I save but something always pops up and there goes my savings. With this check that’s coming in May from the tax rebate I was planning on going. But up pops some medical bills, so that will be gone. I guess I’ll keep trying.

This blog asks a simple question: "What are you saving for?" Its goal is to help people set savings goals, develop a disciplined and/or systematic savings habit, and build a corresponding community of like-minded people as a support network. By laughing, crying, and discussing how we each approach this topic together, we should find it much easier to save together. So what are you saving for?
How far away do your grandkids live? It’s tough living away from your family. I shoud know, as I live 600 miles from my closest relatives. Your plan sounds like a perfect use of your economic stimulus check! Tell us all about your trip when you get back!
