Splurging on $100 pair of shoes or an equally expensive pocketbook was at one time my weekend activity. The occasion? Weather it was a reward or some twisted form of self-medication– I found a reason to spend.
Over the years, I have come to learn there are long-term side affects to being a spendaholic. I no longer ignore the part of my conscience that knows the difference between needs and wants. However, the dark side does take over if I’m not careful. The occasional shopping trip has the potential to end with me drowning in debt. With the support of other WAYSFer’s (What Are You Saving For? bloggers), we can have what we want and eat up the debt too!

This blog asks a simple question: "What are you saving for?" Its goal is to help people set savings goals, develop a disciplined and/or systematic savings habit, and build a corresponding community of like-minded people as a support network. By laughing, crying, and discussing how we each approach this topic together, we should find it much easier to save together. So what are you saving for?
